I am still in the midst of writing my 5th adult novel, but progressing at a reasonable pace and hope very much to be able to say "I've finished it!" sometime before Christmas.
My lullaby picture book, DO YOU FEEL SLEEPY? is being published by Piccadilly Press in 2012 and I can't wait to see the first illustrations for it by Sophy Williams.
My short story OFF BY HEART will be published in the Sunday Express magazine on October 9th

A few weeks ago, I had an email from a teacher in Italy. Her school is near Pisa and her children had read one of my Cats of Cuckoo Square books and enjoyed it. I was very pleased about this and immediately sent off the other Cuckoo Square books in Italian which had been sitting on my 'gives' shelf for years, just waiting for the right moment. Below is a clip of film that shows the children enjoying getting a parcel from the UK. And there's also a lovely letter that follows. The standard of these young children in English is amazing and a great credit to their teacher, Anna Arrighi
Dear Mrs. Adèle,
we were in the classroom, the lesson was going on , when suddenly we heard a knock and entered Paola - our caretaker - with a package.
We immediately wanted to see what we the package contained ....... and, with great enthusiasm, we discovered that there were your books!
You can not imagine the mess we did for the joy!
Obviously we have already started reading "Rosa e il piccolo intruso ," and we must tell you: it's really beautiful!
Now we have to say goodbye to you, because we have our Philosophy for Children circle-time.
Goodbye and lots of thanks.
